What each user role in Albacross can do, and how to set up custom roles

Written by Oskar Johnson Hägglund

Every user in your Albacross account has a role that decides what they can see and do. There are four built-in roles: Owner, Admin, Member and Viewer. On plans that include the Roles feature, you can also create your own custom roles.

Owner

  • Has the same permissions in the app as an Admin.

  • There is exactly one Owner per account.

  • The Owner can't be removed from the account or moved to another role.

  • Only the Owner can make someone else the Owner. When they do, the previous Owner becomes an Admin.

  • The Owner has the highest authority when contacting Albacross about important changes to the account.

The Owner as your main contact with Albacross

The Owner is the person we treat as having the final say over the account. For important changes, we'll want the request to come from the Owner, or we may check with the Owner before going ahead. This includes requests such as:

  • Changing, upgrading, downgrading or cancelling your subscription

  • Changing who the Owner of the account is, for example when the current Owner leaves your company

  • Closing the account or deleting account data

  • Other changes that affect the whole account, such as contract or invoicing details

This protects your account from changes made without the right approval. We recommend making someone the Owner who is responsible for your Albacross subscription, and handing over ownership in good time if that person changes role or leaves.

If the Owner is no longer available and ownership wasn't handed over, contact us via the chat and we'll help you work out the next steps.

Admin

  • Full access to everything in Albacross.

  • On top of what Members can do, Admins can manage users and roles, billing, company settings, integrations, security settings, the Reveal API and the Home screen.

  • If you see Billing Admin in the invite form, this is a regular Admin with the same permissions.

Member

  • Made for day-to-day work: leads, segments, tags, website pages, domains, signals, notifications, ABM campaigns and connectors.

  • Can reveal contacts and export data, both as CSV and to a connector.

  • Can't manage users or billing, change company, integration or security settings, use the Reveal API or see the Home screen.

Viewer

  • Read-only access to company profiles (overview, activity and contacts) and their own account settings.

  • Can't see the leads list, export data or reveal contacts.

Custom roles

If the built-in roles don't fit your team, you can create your own. Custom roles are available on plans that include the Roles feature.

  • Pick any combination of the permissions above, give the role a name (for example "Sales", "SDR" or "Finance") and assign it to users.

  • Anyone who can manage users and roles can create custom roles.

  • A custom role can't be deleted while it's still assigned to someone. Move those users to another role first.

Adjusting permissions for a single user

You can also fine-tune access for an individual user. On top of their role, a user can be given extra permissions or have some permissions removed, without changing the role for everyone else who has it.
